After a successful anniversary year in 2016, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is collaborating in 2017 with the Stuttgart-based concert organiser Chimperator Live to add a new format called "Mercedes-Benz Summer of Concerts" to its cultural calendar. From 29 June to 2 July 2017, the Mercedes-Benz Museum will for the first time play host to pop concerts on two different stages for between 1500 and 6500 spectators. The first artist has already confirmed: the Irish singer and guitarist Rea Garvey will perform on 1 July 2017. An automotive and culinary supporting programme for young and old will add a special touch to the Summer of Concerts.
Stuttgart is set to gain a large new open-air site: currently used as a car park, the area between the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the Mercedes-Benz company-owned dealership will for the first time in summer 2017 be transformed into a concert stage. An event area of 7000 square metres for up to 6500 spectators will provide the Museum with new possibilities for concerts of various music genres in addition to the existing open-air stage (1500 spectators). Tickets for Rea Garvey are already on sale at http://chmp.live/konzertsommer. Each concert ticket comes with a 25 percent discount on admission to the Museum in 2017. Also included is travel on all means of local transport (VVS) on the day of the event. More artists and information on the Mercedes-Benz Museum will follow in the New Year.
With Chimperator Live, the Mercedes-Benz Museum has the support of a strong partner as organiser. Based in Stuttgart, Chimperator Live is responsible for such artists as Cro, Die Orsons, SDP and Namika. In addition, Chimperator Live acts as a local organiser in Stuttgart and Cologne. With over 600 shows in the last two years, Chimperator Live has very quickly developed into one of Germany's leading organisers.
The Mercedes-Benz Museum is open daily from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ticket counter always closes at 5 pm.
